Melinda Guillen
I grew up in Las Vegas, NV and have since lived in Los Angeles and San Diego, CA. My current work as a writer, curator, organizer, and scholar are outgrowths of previous early experiences including grassroots and community activism, domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy, fashion visual merchandising, and DIY culture.
Feminist critique and social justice are as important to my life and professional endeavors as the supportive network of family, friends, and colleagues that I am lucky to have. As a professional in the contemporary art world and academia, I believe that work should be not only engaging and challenging but also, pleasurable for everyone involved. I enjoy collaborating with artists, designers, curators, activists, scholars, and others in dynamic production settings for exhibitions, publications, workshops, panels, and more.
I welcome any inquiries about projects and warmly thank you for your interest.
